"THE GREATEST POWER IN LIFE IS DISCIPLINE"
When Master Kang was young, he was often a sickly and timid child. Always lacking in confidence, he felt a lot of fear in trying new things. When he turned 4, his mother took him to a taekwondo school in Korea. That's how Master Kang's Taekwondo Journey began. However, from the first day of taekwondo class, he cried. Then he still cried almost every day. A week passed, then a month, and gradually, he began to change. He started to get along with other children and gained confidence. Since then, he no longer hid behind his mother.
Master Kang loved taekwondo, attending the gym every day, improving his skills and eventually becoming a taekwondo athlete from elementary school to high school. In elementary school, he trained for about 4 hours a day, 6 hours in middle school, and approximately 8 hours in high school. As a taekwondo athlete, he won many competitions, even achieving first place in the International Taekwondo Championship held in Turkey.
Upon entering university, he began working part-time as a taekwondo instructor at a school near the campus. Master Kang enjoyed teaching taekwondo to children, leading him to obtain a kindergarten physical education certificate and an elementary school PE certificate. These educations helped understanding and guiding children better. Although he initially considered becoming a physical education teacher in Korea, his passion for teaching taekwondo to children led him to immigrate to California, USA after completing military service.
In the United States, Master Kang started his teaching career under Master Kwak at the American Martial Arts Academy in Simi Valley. There, he served as an instructor and the sparring team coach. While coaching the sparring team, he coached two taekwondo junior nationals to success.
After marrying Ms Tasha, who is now ABBA manager, in California, they moved to Alpharetta, Georgia, where Master Kang worked as the Head Instructor at Chung's Taekwondo. About a year and a half later, they moved to Peachtree City and opened the American Black Belt Academy in 2012. Since then, Master Kang has been instructing numerous students.
